Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and DaSecure Solutions LLC ("DaSecure", "we", "us") governing your use of ZapQR — including the ZapQR iOS application, the ZapQR Chrome extension, the ZapQR relay service, the zapqr.ai website, and ZapQR developer integrations such as the embed widget and the ZapQR Login WordPress plugin (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, embedding, or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

ZapQR is a password manager with a built-in TOTP authenticator and QR code autofill. Your vault is encrypted with AES-256 and stored locally on your device; we operate a relay service that passes end-to-end encrypted session data between your phone and your browser so credentials can be delivered without being stored on our servers.

ZapQR is a convenience and security tool. It does not create, own, or control the accounts whose credentials you store, and it is not responsible for the websites and services you log in to.

3. Beta Software

Parts of the Service are currently offered as a beta, free of charge, including through Apple TestFlight. Beta software may contain errors, may change or be discontinued at any time, and is provided without any commitment to availability, data retention, or support. Keep independent backups of anything important — including an export of your vault.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

5. Your Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for safeguarding your device, your master password, and your biometric unlock settings. Because of our zero-knowledge design, we cannot recover your vault if you lose access to it.
  • You may only store and autofill credentials for accounts you own or are authorized to access.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you store in ZapQR.
  • You must comply with all laws that apply to your use of the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to access accounts or systems without authorization
  • Interfere with, overload, probe, or disrupt the relay service or any other part of the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by law or by an applicable open-source license
  • Resell, rent, or redistribute the Service except as expressly allowed in Section 7
  • Use the Service to transmit malware or unlawful content, or to phish, impersonate, or deceive others

7. Developer Integrations

We offer tools that let you add ZapQR login to your own sites, including the embed widget and the ZapQR Login WordPress plugin. If you use them:

  • You may integrate them into sites you own or operate, including commercial sites, at no charge during the beta
  • You are responsible for your own site's security, authentication logic, and compliance obligations, and for disclosing your use of the ZapQR relay service to your users where required
  • You may not present the widget in a misleading way or use it to collect credentials for accounts you are not authorized to authenticate
  • Open-source components (such as the WordPress plugin, licensed GPL-2.0-or-later) remain governed by their own licenses
  • We may change the relay protocol or endpoints; we will make reasonable efforts to announce breaking changes, but availability of the relay service is not guaranteed

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by DaSecure and protected by intellectual property laws, with patent(s) pending. These Terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service as intended. Your vault contents remain yours; we claim no rights to them.

9. Privacy

How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on third parties such as Apple (app distribution), Vercel (website hosting), and Railway (relay hosting), and interoperates with third-party websites you choose to log in to. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY DATA WILL NOT BE LOST.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DASECURE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF FIFTY US DOLLARS (US$50) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold DaSecure harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time; deleting the app removes your locally stored vault. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (including the relay service and developer integrations) if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections 8 and 11–13 survive termination.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the app or website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which DaSecure Solutions LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in that state, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
