ZapQR

Delete your account and data

This page explains how to delete the ZapQR account used by ZapLock: Lock Any Folder and other apps published by DaSecure Solutions LLC, and exactly what is removed.

One ZapQR account signs you in to all of them, so deleting it removes your data for all of them. You do not need to install anything or sign in to make this request.

How to request deletion

  1. Send an email to support@dasecure.com with the subject Delete my ZapQR account.
  2. Send it from the email address the account uses. That is how we confirm the request is yours. If you cannot, tell us the address and we will email that address to confirm before deleting anything.
  3. We delete the account and confirm by reply. Requests are actioned within 30 days and usually much sooner. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Before you delete

Unlock any folder you still want to read. ZapLock folders are encrypted with a key that is split between your device and our server. Deleting the account destroys the server half.

Once the account is gone, a locked ZapLock folder can no longer be unlocked by anyone, including us. The encrypted files stay on your disk but there is no way back into them. Unlock what you need first, then request deletion.

What is deleted

Everything below is erased from our systems:

  • Your account and email address
  • Your passkeys and sign-in methods
  • Every device you enrolled, with its identifier and public key
  • Every vault record: its identifier, its name, and the encrypted key shares held for it
  • Everyone you shared a folder with, and everyone who shared one with you
  • All sessions, tokens and pending sign-in links
  • Any OIDC applications registered to the account

Any device still signed in locks its open folders immediately as part of the deletion.

What is kept, and why

We keep a security event log after an account is deleted.

It records that events happened — sign-ins, device enrolments, folders shared and access revoked — with the account identifier and email they happened to. We keep it for security and fraud prevention: it is the record that shows whether an account was misused, and it has to outlive the account for that to mean anything.

It is never used for marketing, profiling or analytics, and it is not sold or shared. It contains no file contents, no file names and no key material.

What was never ours to delete

Your files never reach us. ZapLock encrypts and decrypts on your device, and file contents, file names and whole keys are never uploaded. Your folders stay on your own disks and in your own cloud storage, and deleting your account does not touch them — see the note above about unlocking first.
